Visiting to Husky farm and local house
At the husky place, you will see when owner is feeding the dogs and how the dogs are listening the orders. Then we go inside of the huskycage and you can touch the dogs or hug them and of course, make a lot of photos. At the same time you will get the information about the huskies life in summer- and wintertime.
Program is starting from SallaReindeerpark, where you will meet the guide. After a short demonstration, you will drive to husky farm, about 30 km, on your own car. Guide will drive first.
At the very first, in husky place, you will see when owner is feeding the dogs and how the dogs are listening the orders. During the feeding huskies are keeping a big noise, but after that they are quiet. Then we go inside the huskycages and you can touch the dogs or hug them and of course, make a lot of photos. At the same time you will get the information about the huskies life in summer- and wintertime.
Then we will check some equipment what we are using, when we are training the dogs and also there's a sledge that we are using in winter. We will tell you,how to drive and what kind of safaris we are doing in winter time.
After husky information we will visit in traditional sauna and tell how to use it and also why it is so important to Finnish people. And in the end we go in to the house. There we drink coffee or tea and you will hear the history of the salla people, after World War II, when they came here and started to rebuild Salla. There is also some slide show in flap top, showing the photos of husky safaris in winter.
And after the program you will drive back to the cottage by yourself.
